Troyes
Troyes has an old town centre and is a tourist attraction in the Champagne region.

Brussels Market Square
Brussels market square, with the client's car and an Oerbier figure. Ordered as a birthday present…

Celler, Priorat
Celler means winery in Catalan, and this is our first winery in the Priorat, a Spanish wine region. The empty wine barrels are used for a years-long maturation, resulting in Reserva beers.

Gratallops
Gratallops is a small town in the Priorat, a Spanish wine region.

Puerto de Santa María
Puerto de Santa María. A small harbour town in the south of Spain, famous because Christopher Columbus started one of his voyages to America here. Also famous for its sherry bodegas.

Antwerp Cathedral
Antwerp Cathedral. Meant for the cover of a praline box, but never realised.

Conwy Castle
Watercolour of the medieval castle of Conwy, made during a week's painting course with a group of professional English artists!

Jefferson Memorial
Washington DC, Jefferson Memorial. Every two years our importer in the States invited De Dolle Brouwers to talk about (our) beers in his pub, The Brickskeller.

Roeselare
Roeselare, painted on 2 January 2000 for a politician, on order. He never bought it. I like politicians…

Tiraque, Bolivia
Tiraque, Bolivia. A view of the hospital my brother Jo, a doctor, founded in Bolivia, at the time the poorest country in South America. Today 60 people work there. Original painted on site, scanned.

Diksmuide Market Square
Diksmuide. A commissioned painting of the market square. On the left the church, in the middle the belfry, on the right a statue of a cultural society, the Man in the Moon. The painting is on canvas and measures 2.50 m by 1.20 m. It hangs proudly in the living room of the mayor.

Eu Castle
Eu Castle. This castle is also used as the town hall. I made this painting because we were friends with the mayor, quite a character. Since the last elections he is no longer in office, and I am happy, but alone with my painting.

Jerusalem
Jerusalem. Original watercolour, painted on site. It was a rainy day and people were happy about that. While painting, I asked to shelter under a bus shelter meant for the army, but the soldier looked very upset. On the way back to Eilat, a customs check kept the small plane waiting: the army saw a spy in me. I think this will be the only painting of this city in my life.

Trevi Fountain
Rome, the Trevi Fountain, a very popular must-see in Rome. One of the challenges is the composition: I chose a three-quarter view to avoid symmetry.

Bebo, Brussels
Brussels, Bebo. One of the few good beer bars in Brussels, next to the starred restaurant Comme chez Soi. Just a 15-minute walk from Brussels-South station, just enough (not) to miss your train.

Rodenbach Pub, Roeselare
Roeselare. One of the Rodenbach-owned pubs on the market square. Torn down and rebuilt.

Near Piazza Navona
Rome. Near Piazza Navona, a hidden, unexplored place where you can feel like you are in heaven.

Le Petit Jaja
Lille, Le Petit Jaja. Some friends opened a weekend bar in Lille. I said: I will make a small painting you can use on the menu. Funny is the contrast between red and blue, the terrace and the street furniture.

Saint-Tropez
Saint-Tropez. Even in February, the skyline and the port are peaceful and picturesque.

Cassel
Cassel, France. Since the façade was redone in brick, there is less colour contrast. Inside it is very old, but you may not take photographs. Maybe they cannot forbid drawing…

Houtem
Houtem, Belgium. September sun on the old church, surrounded by the graveyard.

Cinque Terre
Italy, Tyrrhenian Sea. Cinque Terre is named after the five picturesque villages on the coast.

Brussels Town Hall
Brussels, Belgium. The market square with the town hall, and Els, my wife, breastfeeding Balthazar.

Jerez de la Frontera Cathedral
Jerez de la Frontera Cathedral. From the terrace of the five-star hotel Tío Pepe you have this amazing view of the cathedral and a panorama of the town dedicated to sherry. Scanned.

Mont-Saint-Michel
Mont-Saint-Michel, France. A view of the famous abbey and island, a tourist attraction, at low tide. Watercolour on paper with ink and bamboo pen. 40 × 70 cm, private owner.
